When I first came to my new home, I was extremely nervous and shy. I was unsure about how to live in a home with humans and hid a lot.

Out of desperation, my new Mumma sang to me when I was trying to escape the water coming at me from the showerhead in the bath for the first time. I was frightened, scrabbling and whimpering but then this song of love and worship entered my consciousness, and I was hooked.

Instinctively, each time I heard a similar tune I’d come running to enjoy that feeling of peace and security.

These days when I curate music, I like to think I am helping others who may be like me. Everyone who is unsure, scared or confused may find comfort and pleasure in the music of faith. My interest in curating music for HHO is to share the positivity and hope that so many wonderful YouTube clips can evoke.

A typical morning sees me prep for my role at HHO by having a hearty brekky, followed by a little doze on one of my favourite armchairs then walking devotedly with my pack in a park. The park is one of my go to places for inspiration. There’s always plenty of God’s creation to see, sniff and listen to.

After worship and a mini sniff break/ roll/ lie in the sunshine in our pretty courtyard I’ll settle onto my favourite rug to pass my opinion with an ear flick, blink, cuddle request or turning of the back whilst Mumma plays a selection of YouTube clips for me to choose from.

After curating music I usually feel peaceful, serene and sleepy. I’ll lie around for a bit, but will never say no to a tasty treat or another sniff fest outside.

My music taste is very varied. The first hymn my Mumma sang to me was ‘As the Deer’. It remains a favourite of mine, especially the version at the bottom of this page (which is almost as good as Mumma’s was on that first bath day).

My favourite faith artist without a doubt is the great Elvis Presley. I’ll come running from the other end of the house for an Elvis classic like this one

When I am scared, or nervous, Gregorian Chanting helps soothe my soul. 'Pange Lingua' is always at the top of my list. Mumma can sing along in Latin for me when a thunderstorm is raging for that added security I may need.

To say everyone has been surprised to find me sharing the role of music curator with other members of HHO is an understatement. Oh yeah! But as long as I can still hear and respond to fantastic worship music and everyone still wants me to curate, I’ll keep on curating.
